May 29, 2018 If PixelJunk Monsters is one of the all-time-great tower defence games – if not the greatest – then Monsters 2 is the tower defence evolved. It feels like it's been ages since Q-Games dabbled in tower defense with the original PixelJunk Monsters.
I just wanted to fill everyone in on what dropped in the latest patch. I know that there were official patch notes posted to the news section, but wanted to add a bit more here since I know a few of you are fairly active on the board. With that, on to the patch! It's meant to be a more of a small expansion than just a simple patch, and we hope you enjoy it!The big ticket items are the new Weekly Stage and Random Stage modes. Both of these modes are unlocked after you have three perfect rainbows. The Weekly Stage is a new stage every week, with leaderboards. Think of it as a global challenge stage.
You can keep playing it as many times as you like throughout the week, and then check the standings for the previous 4 weeks worth of stages to see how you stack up. There are also 24 new masks and shells to be had by playing the weekly stages.Keep in mind that the Weekly Stage is closed for a short break on Monday and Tuesdays GMT.Random Stages are just that.
The game will generate a new stage every time you start Random Mode. The basic idea is to let you play the game forever. You can keep retrying the same random stage, but once you return to stage select, a new random stage will be generated for you to challenge. Also a grab bag of requested features:1) You can now play local co-op with a single controller and the keyboard.
Go into the 'More' section of the options screen and turn on '2P on keyboard'. The name is a little weird, we will improve it shortly, but basically it means that when you set that option to 'on', Player 1 will use the keyboard and Player 2 will use the controller.2) Ranking boards have been added for both online and local multiplayer.3) There is a new 'photo mode' for taking pretty, UI-less screenshots of your game.3) Matching menu flow has been simplified somewhat. And a bunch of other fixes and small quality of life improvements. All of these changes will also be included in the upcoming PS4 and Steam patches, along with the camera changes. Thank you for that patch! I'm currently having an issue trying to see if its Steam, my controller or the game. I will play a level normally with my controller and then randomly as if the button is jammed to a certian direction, the little guy will keep going left.
It won't let me X out or anything after I pause. After 5mins of not pressing any button I'm able to play the level normally for a while until it happens again. The controller wasn't like this before the patch. I have played other games with the same controler and I'm not having any issues.
Anybody else having this problem? Originally posted by:I know there has been a few issues but we really appreciate that you’re adding new features! Can you offer some clarity around the local coop scoreboards? Doodle alchemy guide. How do the level high scores work when running around the level select? Do they only always show the single player high score or do they show the high scores for local coop when there are two of you running around? It looks like it's always showing the single player score.
I think you've hit on a good point though. Now that we have local we should probably show those instead. Originally posted by:Thank you for that patch! I'm currently having an issue trying to see if its Steam, my controller or the game.

I haven't seen or heard of this problem yet, but I'll try to reproduce it locally today.

Thank you for your patience, we are trying really hard to get them distributed as quickly as possible.Great! When?Assuming no other roadblocks, mid-September. There are a lot of things that have held them up already, so I'm afraid I can't promise a firm time simply because I don't have any control over it.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 is the 2nd installment of the strategic real-time tower defense game developed by Q-Games. The spirit of the forest, Tikiman, is in trouble. An army of mysterious monsters has invaded his peaceful forest. Repel the fire and fury of your assaulting foes. Build towers within the woods and level them up to vanquish the invaders. Protect the Chibis, the future of the Tiki tribe.
Protect the 20 Chibis back home at all costs. The number of waves may differ depending on the stage selected. Use magic to transform the trees around you into towers that attack the monsters. If you get stuck in the game, check out the video walkthrough and gameplay for the game.
